Thanks for this encouraging post. I am a young pastor and it feels like everything I read in Baptist circles indicates that young pastors like me are nothing but trouble.

I would love to know that people are praying for me.

I pray that I will never be arrogant or proud.

Also, I long to partner with older, wiser, men of God and learn as much as I can. I say this because I believe the current perception is that young pastors are doing their own thing and shun the older generation of ministers, but this is not always the case.

Excellent word! It's good to hear those replies from the Lord that encourage us to stay where we are and keep working. Equally challenging are the times the Lord calls you to another field to serve Him there. The work of the Kingdom is not finished; I pray for faithfulness to complete the work He's put before me until Christ returns.

Good words. Jeff Iorg, Pres. of Golden Gate Seminary also addresses this subject in his short, but powerful book, "Is God Calling Me?" Jeff will be at the Bluebonnet Baptist Assocaiton on Thursday of this week (3-25-2010) to discuss his latest book, "The Painful Side of Leadership." It too is a rather short but powerful book that every minister should put on their "must read" list. Jeff will be with us at Canyon Lake First Baptist Church located at 13085 FM 306 Canyon Lake, Texas. Seminar begins at 9:00 a.m. and is Free to all. Lunch will be served (it's free too!).
